Alan joined atai Life Sciences in 2022.  Previously, Alan was Principal Scientist at Janssen Pharmaceutical Research and Development, LLC where he worked at the nexus of biophysics and chemistry as a member of the Structural Biology and Computational Chemistry groups.  Alan brings over 20 years of industry experience in the design and characterization of small and large molecules by way of rational, in silico structure-based design and experimental biophysics.

Dr. Gibbs holds a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Alberta.
